S. E. Bland joyously brings her impressions of America to life. Born in Oklahoma, this artist travels to Alaska, to Florida, to the canyons and rocks of Arizona. She paints in oils, acrylics and watercolors to replicate the beauty that she sees. As one art show judge stated, "Her paintings are simply elegant!"

Four Minutes in January "On January 7, 2009, I received a phone call from a friend driving back from Florida. She was approaching our subdivision and she said: 'Run outside with your camera! There is the most amazing sunset I have ever seen!'"
What follows is four minutes in January, as I have tried to capture it. From pastels to a vivid, rich deep orange sunset, the sky changed with every minute. That's why they are labeled with the actual times photographed. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed painting them."

As a child, I remember my Granny having eye surgery. When the bandages were removed, her first words were:
"I can see color!"
I've never forgotten her joy. Now when I look out over "my" valley and see the sunrise, I remember my Granny, and I see color!
As you visit my web pages, may you see and enjoy the colors our Creator has laid out for us.
Enjoy!
