S.E. was awarded Artist in Residence at the Mill Attelier Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico for two months in 2001. "Having that time apart to study and to paint at Ghost Ranch, Bandolier Monument and the area in and around Santa Fe was a privilege I'll always be grateful for."

S.E. Bland is a painter of the American Landscape. Lured by the beauty of our land from Alaska to the Gulf Coast, S.E. travels and paints in oils, acrylics and watercolors the impressions she sees.

Beginning her career as a fiber artist, S.E. says that texture is particularly important to her. She laughs that building rocks is almost as much fun and climbing them. "Whether I am sitting on a hillside chasing the shadows, or painting with my feet in the ocean, it's all sheer joy," she says. "I'm blessed to find this passion in my life."
