Press Release – The Sedona Series

S. E. Bland, an American landscape artist from the Hill Country of Texas, is currently painting “The Sedona Series.”
Inspired by several trips to the Red Rock Country of Northern Arizona, S. E. has captured quick impressions in oils of the area in and around Sedona.
“America is unbelievably beautiful,” she remarks, “and painting on the side of a mountain is definitely a challenge, with the winds tumbling your easel several times in a session!”
S. E. laughs that close inspection may reveal several grains of real Sedona dust embedded in her artwork, as these pieces were begun plein air in October, 2007. Bringing the still wet pieces home to her studio, S.E. has been busy finishing them while impressions of Sedona are still fresh in her mind. “I’ll use these as a basis for some really large pieces,” she explains. “And, God willing, I’ll return to Sedona to paint once again the skies and the rocks which so enchant me.”
“For a gal who grew up in Oklahoma, the landscape of Arizona has a magical quality, and I plan to paint many more of these scenes, from Tucson to Chinle.”

Press Release – Girlz

"The series I am calling "THE GIRLZ" was conceived following a family reunion that held some emotions I had not expected.
Returning with a heavy heart, I went to my studio and began
intuitively pushing paint around the surface. "AMAZING GRACE" emerged, and I realized the healing power of art. From that
moment on, whenever I feel deeply, whether it be sadness or great joy, I find another of my girlz is born. They cannot be forced, they either appear or elude me, but when one does show up, I ask myself: Now, where did THAT come from? I hope others enjoy these paintings as much as I have, "
